Grayline Baittanks by Sunshine
  • All materials used in the manufacture of the Grayline Bait Tank are TOTALLY saltwater resistant.

  • Only the finest stainless steel hardware is used for construction.

  • The Filtration System and the Aeration System are combined. The filtration system is a gravity flow process, while the Aeration System is achieved by introducing fresh air into the bottom of the Bait Tank.

  • The entire Bait Tank is insulated including the bottom. Summertime heat transferring from the boat deck does not heat the bait allowing for greater bait life.

  • The Bait Tank insulation is sealed with exterior and interior polyethylene walls.

  • Total UVH Stabilization is achieved from the materials used in construction our Bait Tank. This unique process contributes to greater bait life.

  • The inside portion of the tank lids are constructed using a seal in a manner to prevent water sloshing out onto your boat.

  • Only quiet ‘Rule’ pumps are used in our Bait Tanks.

  • All pumps are 12 Volt low amp (2 amp/hr) pumps allowing for longer use without discharging your battery.

  • Drainage is available via a discharge port in the back of the Bait Tank. An optional high speed specially designed pump is available for extra cost if desired.

  • Easy close/Easy open flat lid on the 20 gal, 30 gal, 40 gal, and 50 gal oval tanks.

  • The 25 and 35 gallon tank have the same great features as the oval tanks except for a molded-in filter box.

Blue Interior (optional)

Add a blue interior to your order for $40.00.

In 2010, we are going to offer bait tanks with blue and white interiors.  Why Blue?   It is believed to calm the bait and cause less stress.

We are offering the 30 gallon model with a solid top with the option of a Removable Filter or Built-in Filter. What is the advantage of one filter over the other?  The Removable Filter is easier to service and it is easier to clean the tank. You can remove filter when trying to get the last few baits since the last baits will still be in great shape and a challenge to catch.  The Built-in Filter works equally well and can be cleaned easily; the difference is like the difference between auto windows that roll-up manually (Built in-Filter) versus auto windows that are electric (Removable Filter). The solid top is a great feature. It can be folded back onto itself and when it is closed, and it can also be used as a seat!  The seat is made of high density polyethylene (½ inch thick), and has a thumb latch, lift handle, and a seal under the top to help seal the tank.
Why are we offering these options? To allow you get a quality bait tank with the amenities that you feel comfortable with.

Insulation

Filtration / Aeration / Back to Top

The Grayline Bait Tank is unique in that it is completely insulated. Grayline Tanks are constructed using a tri-bond rotational molding process. This process enables polyethylene foam insulation to be built into the tank during construction.

Polyethylene Foamation Insulation Model

The bottom insulation on the Grayline Bait Tank keeps the water cooler during the hot summer months. There is no heat transfer from the boat deck into the tank. The benefits of this insulation feature are much healthier baits and fresher bait for a longer period of time.

All Grayline Bait Tanks have only ONE water storage holding area. This allows for more bait to be held in the tank and a smaller footprint than other tanks with a separate filtering area.

The Tri-Bond rotational molding process produces an insulated, single thickness wall structure tank. The construction process bonds three different layers of high density polyethylene together to form one, durable, light weight and efficient unit.

The Tri-Bond rotational molding process will keep out any moisture or water from accumulating between the walls of your bait tank. Our design will not allow water leaks into the insulation area which make other tanks heavy and inefficient. No leaks also mean a cleaner environment in your boat.

The Grayline Bait Tank has NO seams to come apart or outer skins to crack which will require replacing at a later time.

The Grayline Bait Tank does not have any exposed hardware which could possibly rip clothing. All Grayline Bait Tanks use only the highest quality of stainless steel hardware.

All Grayline Bait Tanks components are COMPLETELY Saltwater Resistant.

Filtration System

The filter system utilized in the production of the Grayline is unique in several ways:

Greater tank capacity is achieved by placing the filter box in the top of the bait tank. This allows for more bait to be held in the tank.
Filtration Basket
The filter box is located beneath the top of the rotationally molded tank above the water line. Placing the filter box under the lid allows for a larger bait access opening.

The quiet Rule™ pump draws the harmful scales and polluted water from the bottom of the tank up through a PVC tube and into the filter box. In the filtering process fresh air is mixed into the water, via a venturi tube, and injected back into the tank.

The single Rule™ brand pump (readily available and well known for its dependability) serves a dual purpose.

1st - a portion of the aerated water is discharged as a 1/2 inch stream over the water in the tank. While the stream is in contact with the atmosphere harmful ammonia gas is released and additional clean air is put into the tank. Ammonia is a by-product of contained bait and is a contributor to early bait death.

2nd - at the same time, a portion of the water flows over a spillway into the filter compartment and down through the multiple filters keeping the water clean.

An additional Aeration/Oxygen infusion is available if desired.

Aeration

As an option, we offer the following:

Keep Alive Aeration/Oxygen System
Aeration Oxygenation System

To the left is a picture of the aeration/oxygen system. You can clearly see the air/oxygen enhancing pump on the plastic pedestal that slides over the pick-up tube. This system can increase the amount of bait being held in the tank by 40% or more.

The picture to the right shows you how to install the air controller in your existing tank. Drill 1 ½ inch hole with flat spade bit, insert controller, hook plastic tubing to needle valve, and then to the base of air/oxygen enhancer pump. Aeration / Oxygenation: How to Install Air Controller

The clear plastic tube transports air/oxygen to air enhancer pump.
Aeration / Oxygenation Controlling the Current
Air/oxygen enhancer pump aimed to the side of the bait tank will control the current. This can be aimed in any direction in tank as shown in these pictures.
Aeration / Oxygenation Air Control Center
Above shows air control center installed on side of tank and view from bait well entrance.

To install air/oxygen enhancer pump simply remove the intake tube and slip the pedestal bracket over the intake tube. Then slide the bracket down the tube to the top of the skimmer and reconnect the tube to the filter box. Also, please note that the wires to this system will use the same path as the wires for the pump and filter basket.
